The weeks and months after birth ask a lot of your core and pelvis. Supacore's postpartum compression shorts and leggings were developed with specialist physiotherapist Dr Carolyn Taylor as a modern, wearable alternative to belly binding: firm, medical-grade support you can wear under everyday clothes.
Every style in this range uses our patented CORETECH® waistband, with a built-in sacroiliac belt and back brace that stabilises the pelvis and activates the core. Body-mapped compression of 25+ mmHg targets the pelvis, core and lower back, and Ribtech® body-mapped ribbing gives a gentle micro-massage as you move. The range is designed to help you recover after a vaginal birth or C-section, and with abdominal separation (diastasis recti, or DRAM), perineal trauma, pelvic instability and lower back pain.
For the most tummy coverage over a C-section scar, the Amelia leggings and Nina shorts have an extra-high 22 cm waistband. Olivia is our bestselling full-length postpartum legging, Charlotte comes in a 7/8 length with a pocket, and the Mary and Clara shorts are easy to wear every day and in warmer weather.
Supacore garments are a Class I medical device registered with the TGA (ARTG 372670), so you may be able to claim through your health fund's Extras cover. Orders over A$199 ship free in Australia, and size exchanges are free within 30 days. The postpartum range isn't designed to be worn during pregnancy; for support before birth, shop our prenatal range.

Frequently asked questions
How soon after a C-section can I wear postpartum compression shorts or leggings?
Check with your doctor first, especially if your scar is troubling you. Supacore's general guidance is that many women start wearing the shorts or leggings about 2 weeks after birth if they're healing well and comfortable, while some wait until their 6-week check-up.
Do postpartum compression shorts help with abdominal separation (diastasis recti)?
Supacore's postpartum shorts and leggings are designed to help you recover from abdominal separation (DRAM) by stabilising the pelvis and supporting the core through the patented CORETECH® waistband. The Nina shorts' extra-high 22 cm waistband covers separation above and below the navel. Wear them alongside the exercise program your physio gives you.
Is Supacore better than a belly binder after birth?
A belly binder wraps the abdomen. Supacore builds sacroiliac-belt-style pelvic support into seamless shorts and leggings and adds 25+ mmHg body-mapped compression through the pelvis, core and lower back. That gives your pelvis and lower back support as well as your tummy, in a garment you can wear under clothes all day.
Can I wear Supacore postpartum leggings during pregnancy?
No. Supacore's postpartum shorts and leggings aren't suitable to wear during pregnancy. During pregnancy, choose the Emma Pregnancy Support Shorts or Jenny Pregnancy Support Leggings, which have a soft flex zone that stretches over the bump.
What size postpartum leggings should I buy?
Size by height and weight, not your usual clothing size: if you're still pregnant, use your estimated end-of-pregnancy weight. If you're buying after birth and have moved up more than one size since before pregnancy (for example M to XL), choose the size in between (L). Free size exchanges are available within 30 days.
What compression level is Supacore's postpartum range?
Most styles are 25+ mmHg medical-grade, body-mapped compression. Olivia and Charlotte are rated High/Firm 25 mmHg. It's firm, so roll the garment on like a stocking rather than pulling it up by the waistband.
Can I claim postpartum compression on my health fund?
Possibly. Supacore CORETECH® garments are a Class I medical device registered with the TGA (ARTG 372670), and funds such as Medibank, Bupa, HCF, nib and HBF may pay benefits under Extras cover that includes medical compression garments. Have your physio, obstetrician or GP complete Supacore's Health Fund Rebate Form and send it to your fund with your invoice.
