Who we are
- Supacore Pty Ltd (ABN 75 162 429 834) is an Australian company based in Victoria that designs patented, medical-grade, body-mapped compression shorts and leggings, sold at supacore.com and through authorised stockists.
- Supacore began in 2014. The idea came when a team member who was seeing a physiotherapist for lower back support was advised to wear a sacroiliac (SI) belt between sessions. The team, experienced in seamless knitting, built SI-belt compression into the waistband of seamless leggings and refined it with a physiotherapist who specialises in osteitis pubis and pelvic injury.
- Supacore makes compression for three main groups: people with POTS and related conditions (including EDS and lipoedema), pregnant and postpartum women, and athletes with groin, hip, hamstring and lower-back injuries.
Clinical designer
- Dr Carolyn Taylor (PhD) is a physiotherapist and co-creator of the CORETECH® waistband. Supacore describes her as one of Australia's top experts in the research and treatment of pelvic instability in high-level amateur and professional athletes, and an expert in pelvic instability during pregnancy.
- She designed the Emma Pregnancy Support Shorts and Jenny Pregnancy Support Leggings, and writes Dr Carolyn's Research Corner (supacore.com/blogs/dr-carolyn-s-research-corner).
Technology
- CORETECH®: a patented waistband with a built-in sacroiliac belt and back brace. It applies compression through the pelvis to mimic the body's deep stabilising system (transversus abdominis and lumbar-sacral multifidus), stabilising the pelvis and activating the core. It is protected by an international patent.
- Body-mapped, graduated compression: compression zones are engineered into the knit for the pelvis, core, abdomen and legs.
- Ribtech®: body-mapped ribbing that gives a micro-massage (kinesiology-inspired) to the muscles during movement.
- Seamless circular knit: no cut-and-sew seams. Leggings and tights have one inside-leg seam because they're knitted as a tube. Fabric: polyamide/elastane/cotton technical yarn blends; moisture-wicking and breathable.
- XTRA / Xtra styles: a reinforced waistband that prevents rollover, with extra support front and back.
- Research and development: more than 10 years of R&D. Trialled over seven years with sports physiotherapists and elite clubs including Sydney Swans, Queens Park Rangers, Melbourne Victory, Melbourne Storm, Arsenal FC and LA Galaxy.
Regulatory status (Australia)

Sizing
- CORETECH® garments are sized by height and weight, not by regular clothing size, because the compression is medical grade. They should be a neat, tight fit without restricting circulation. Size guides: supacore.com/pages/womens-coretech-sizing-guide and supacore.com/pages/mens-sizing-chart.
- Pregnancy: size down, because the pregnancy styles are designed to grow with you. Some women need two sizes over a pregnancy, and Supacore discounts a second pair.
- Postpartum (buying while pregnant): use your estimated end-of-pregnancy weight.
- Putting them on: sit and roll leggings up like stockings, one leg at a time. Don't pull them up by the waistband.
- Care: cold gentle machine wash, inside out. Don't bleach, tumble dry, iron, dry clean or use fabric softener.

Health fund rebates, NDIS and insurance
- Australia: members of funds such as Medibank, Bupa, HCF, nib and HBF may be eligible to claim under Extras policies that include medical compression garments (or aids and appliances / orthoses). Supacore supplies itemised receipts and ARTG details.
- Conditions listed for rebate support: pre- and postnatal recovery, pelvic instability and dysfunction, lower back pain, postural instability associated with POTS, lipoedema and lymphoedema.
- NDIS: Supacore isn't a registered NDIS provider. Many self-managed and plan-managed participants have claimed CORETECH® for EDS/POTS, pelvic girdle pain or instability, and chronic lower back pain. Email NDIS@supacore.com with the participant name, NDIS number, product details and addresses to receive an invoice.
