We have trialled the Coretech shorts with two members of the squad and have had very positive results

The Coretech technology with its waistband and high compression are the main reasons why I prefer to use the shorts with the squad. Most of the junior squad train in the shorts and we have had good feedback on the prevention of lumbopelvic issues this season. It’s the best around

Frequently asked questions
Can compression shorts help pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy?
Yes. External pelvic support from an SI belt or a pregnancy compression garment is one of the options used to stabilise the pelvis and reduce pregnancy-related pelvic pain, alongside physiotherapy, exercise and hydrotherapy. Supacore's Emma shorts and Jenny leggings build that pelvic support into a seamless garment using patented CORETECH® compression through the pelvis and core.
When should I start wearing pregnancy support shorts?
Many women start wearing pregnancy support wear around the end of the first trimester (12-16 weeks). You can start earlier if you have lower back pain, pelvic instability or pre-existing pelvic girdle pain. Pelvic girdle pain most often begins between 14 and 30 weeks.
Should I choose Emma shorts or Jenny leggings?
Choose Emma shorts (A$149) if your main problem is pelvic, hip, groin or lower back pain, especially in warm weather, because they have anti-chafing technology. Choose Jenny leggings (A$199) if you also have leg swelling, heaviness or varicose veins, because they add graduated compression down the legs.
What size pregnancy shorts should I buy?
Supacore recommends sizing down when you're pregnant, because the pregnancy styles are designed to grow with you and your baby. Use the size guide with your current weight and trimester. Some women need two sizes to last the whole pregnancy, and Supacore will discount a second pair.
How should I wear Emma pregnancy support shorts?
Wear Emma shorts under your clothing, over your underwear, rather than as outerwear. Pull them up to the thighs and then roll them up over your tummy, rather than pulling them up by the waistband.
Who designed Supacore's pregnancy range?
The Emma shorts and Jenny leggings were designed by Dr Carolyn Taylor, an Australian physiotherapist (PhD) and expert in pelvic instability during pregnancy. She also co-created the patented CORETECH® waistband.
Can I claim pregnancy support shorts on my health fund?
You may be able to. Supacore pregnancy garments are a Class I medical device registered with the TGA (ARTG 372671), and members of eligible health funds may claim under Extras cover that includes medical compression garments. Ask your physio, obstetrician or GP to complete Supacore's Health Fund Rebate Form.
