GROIN INJURY
Groin injuries comprise up to 5 % of all sports injuries. In competitive football the numbers increase up to 25%.A groin strain causes sharp pain or spasms in the groin area or lower abdominal region. The pain can quickly resolve, or it can persist, developing into a throbbing pain at rest with sharp stabs of pain when you try to move your leg or walk.
ABDOMINAL SEPARATION
DIASTASIS RECTI / ABDOMINAL SEPARATION Diastasis of the Rectus Abdominis Muscle (DRAM) or Diastasis Recti is more commonly referred to as Abdominal Separation and effects the rectus abdominis muscle - which is the muscle at the front of the abdomen, which runs from the ribcage to the pubic bone. In well trained people, it is the ‘6-pack’ muscle. The join in the middle of the rectus abdominis muscle is called the linea alba.
HAMSTRING STRAIN
A hamstring injury is a strain of one of the three hamstrings muscles at the back of the thigh; usually the biceps femoris muscle. More severe tears of the central hamstring tendon can occur.
OSTEITIS PUBIS
WHAT IS OSTEITIS PUBIS Osteitis Pubis or OP is a painful inflammation of the bone of the pubic area and can happen when you work out too hard too soon, or when the muscles of the core, hip and groin are too weak.
PREGNANCY-RELATED PELVIC PAIN
The pelvis comprises three bony segments: two ‘hip bones’ (the fused bones of the ilium, pubis & ischium) and the sacrum. Between the three bony segments are three joints; two sacroiliac joints posteriorly and the pubic symphysis anteriorly.
PEVLIC FLOOR DURING PREGNANCY
The pelvic floor muscles are the sling of muscles between our legs that attach to the pubic bone and coccyx (front to back) and ischial tuberosity (sit bones) side to side Skeletal muscle – can be stretched or tight, weak or strong, strained, torn and have scar tissue In women, there are three sphincters: urethra, vagina & anus.
