⭕ Why is the CORETECH waistband higher than other compression leggings that I have tried before?
The CORETECH™ range of shorts and leggings have a high compression waistband and can assist with core stability and aid in the recovery and rehabilitation of hamstring, lower back and groin related injuries. The CORETECH™ Shorts have been engineered to replicate the body’s own deep stability system by providing optimal placement of external compressive forces throughout the pelvis and core. Seamlessly knitted compression ensures a comfortable and versatile fit that can be worn in any situation under any uniform or training kit. The CORETECH™ range is highly recommended for anyone who is susceptible to or recovering from a hamstring, lower back or groin related injury. ⭕ I have tried other compression leggings that have seams. Why don’t Supacore products have seams?
Supacore compression products are constructed using unique Seamless Technology, allowing specific compression to be engineered into the garment without the use of uncomfortable seams. Seamless knitting is a more sustainable method of manufacturing as there is less energy consumption and less fabric wastage when compared to traditional methods of cut and sew garment production. The benefits of seamless also include superior comfort and fit as well as the ability to achieve design techniques, yarn combinations and engineered compression/paneling not possible with regular cut and sew methods. Supacore tights and leggings have one inside leg seam as part of the technology as the leggings are knitted in a tube
⭕ I am recovering from a lower back and hamstring injury. How can Supacore help me?
Results of the CORETECH™ technology trials conducted via physiotherapists and strength and conditioning coaches over the past 8 years showed conclusively that athletes suffering from a combination of hip groin and hamstring injuries who were on average laid off the game for 6 months returned on average in 2 or 3 months. ⭕ How does Supacore assist in injury recovery?
Supacore CORETECH™ products have had positive impact on recovery from osteitis pubis, hip, groin, hamstring and other core related issues. The Supacore CORETECH™ range aids athletes to maintain good fitness protocols in 3 ways 1. Providing extra lumbo-pelvic support decreasing the load during training activities due to the high waistband and targeted compression. 2. Gives added proprioceptive feedback during running which plays a major role in increasing player movement efficiency. 3. Speeds up the recovery process after exercise by stimulating blood circulation and reducing the effect of DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)
⭕ They are way too small and too tight!
Compression products come in 3 levels:
- Low 15-20 mmHg – usually socks and stockings
- Medium – 20-30 mmHg -Medical Grade 1 – Coretech shorts and leggings
- High 30-40 mmHg Medical grade 2 – recommended by health professionals for serious venous issues.
They are going to be tight ...but they should not be so tight that they cut off circulation or are so uncomfortable. Please contact us for any queries.
⭕ What do the Compression Levels Mean?
Compression levels are indicated with a range of numbers like “20-30 mmHg”, The unit of measurement is called “millimeters of mercury” which is a measurement of pressure, also used in blood pressure. So this means that the leggings and shorts apply 20-30 mmHG of pressure onto the legs and pelvis.
A low level of compression, such as 15-20 mmHg is a great choice for everyday compression to help with mild swelling and fatigued legs due to long periods of travel, sitting or standing. Our mesh capri leggings are suitable for this.
The 20-30 mmHg level of compression is the first medical grade compression. It’s the most widely used medical grade because it provides competent compression to your legs without being too strong.
The 20-30 mmHg level of compression is great for managing swelling in your legs, spider veins, varicose veins, travel, sports and after certain surgeries. Pregnant mothers are also finding the benefits of compression stockings and are starting to wear 20-30 mmHg to alleviate heaviness, swelling and aching in their legs.
Our Coretech range of leggings and shorts are Medium medical Grade 1 25-30 mmHg compression. They are very firm and take some getting used to... unlike any leggings or shorts that you may have worn.
⭕ My shorts don’t work!
Please contact us sooner rather than later as we may able to help you with your issue. It may be a sizing issue and we can exchange sizes if necessary. If not we may be able to help and advise you in that regards or recommend another product.
⭕ How long after my c-section can I wear the post partum shorts or leggings?
We recommend you speak to your practitioner to get their advice after giving birth and especially if your scar is troubling you. Generally you can start to wear the shorts or leggings around 2 weeks if you are healing well and there is no discomfort. Some women wear the shorts or leggings for most of the day… they take some getting used to as the compression is medical grade and very firm. Some women wait until their first 6 week post C section checkup . Supacore recommends you are guided by your doctor .
⭕ Can I wear the pregnancy shorts to go to the gym?
The pregnancy shorts are best worn under clothing over your underwear and not as outerwear…
⭕ I have a large abdominal hernia following surgery and am wondering if your shorts would be suitable for me?
We recommend you consult your doctor to make sure that our compression is suitable for your condition. It may also depend where your hernia is and where our waistband sits so as not to cause any discomfort.
If you order them and take them to your doctor you will get a better indication of the garment and medical advice for your specific case. If you order a pair of the shorts and your doctor does not recommend and they are not suitable we can arrange a return and refund no problem.
⭕ What is the fibre content of your products?
We use high grade technical yarns polyamide/elastane/cotton blends which have high stretch and recovery, moisture wicking and durability.
⭕ My c-section scar feels uncomfortable
We recommend you speak to your practitioner to get their advice if your scar is troubling you – please take the shorts with you to your appointment and your doctor will be able to give you advice on fit and positioning.
⭕ How do I put the leggings and shorts on?
As you can appreciate the compression is medical grade and very firm and they take some getting used to. They are also not like any other leggings or tights you may have worn so they cannot be put on like your other leggings or tights.
We recommend sitting down and gradually roll the leggings up like stockings, one leg at a time up to your calves, then over the knees then over the thighs and then finally over pelvis and groin. We advise not to pull the leggings up from the waistband as this puts extra pressure on the garment and they will not budge over your legs! They should fit like a second skin without any baggy bits.
With the shorts we recommend pulling them up to the thighs and then rolling up the torso - do not try to pull them up from the waist as they are very firm and will not budge .
⭕ How do I determine my sizing ?
The CORETECH™ range of shorts and leggings have a high compression waistband and medical grade compression so they do no fit like any other gear . If you are pregnant please size down as they are purposely designed to grow with you and baby . Look at your current weight and what trimester you are and if you are in the M range for eg. then size down to small .
⭕ What leggings do you suggest ?
As our Coretech range of leggings is 20-30 mmHG Medical Grade 1 compression we recommend any of our Coretech range of leggings
⭕ Can we return them to exchange for a different size if they don’t fit?
Yes as long as they have not been worn and only tried on and in original packaging
⭕ I’m wanting some everyday black leggings/tights to wear casually and wanted to know the best compression ones with the most support?
Any of our recovery/postpartum leggings will give you the best support.
